well ray, i would just leave your truck the way it is. they wont do anything to you untill you start running up front on a regular basis and since your only running part time, just run what you brung and have fun. i showed up twice at ais with a rear window in the car (mike had to take his rear window out after he won the 1st race last year) and the only tech complaint i got was that i had 2 valve stems in each wheel. the only reason i had them is because the guy we bought the car from was allowed to run blow off valves so we took thoes out put a valve stem in place instead of trying to weld the hole shut because we thought it was a safer way to go. i hate to bring up old demons but PAUL said he DIDNT have a problem with our wheels BUT he didnt want to OVERRULE THE TECH GUY (yes everyone, thoes were his words). like you, we are only running part time so we are going to bring our car up there the same way we brought it up there last year and have fun with it. as far as im concerned, if they have a problem with me racing clean in the back of the pack with a rear window in my car, we are located geographicly dead center between evans mills and SLII (where rear windows are mandatory). its like 5 miles further to go to sl2 than evans mills for us so either way its a long haul for us to have fun.

Angry Dave,

"Spirit of the rule" means your decision to head for Utica Rome is a good one.

I think that the "Spirit of The Rule" means that this will be a legal lite-truck this year...

I feel the 890 tires should be good for some "single file racing" at the very short track with lots of crashes ! just my opinion but I feel this was a bad choice !!!!!!!

I agree, The track is flat with sharp corners, not only that it has no rubber on it and it wont for a while. Running a hard compound tire isn't going to help "rubber" the track. I'm just glad we are on some kind of race tire. It wouldve been a better decision to even put on a softer 8" tire. We are going to pay the same price for 890's as we could pay for 970's. Might be a good idea after the dirt modifieds/late models run to come out because they will put some rubber down.
