Wow Eddie...Sounds like you have a 602 crate, floater, edelbrock intake, 970 tires, and howe center-links in the car you bought...Just a hunch though I could be wrong

you're pretty close, its got an 8.5 inch ten bolt with a 3.90 ring and pinion, stock center link, idler and pitman, I don't have a crate but I'm weighing on spending 3 grand vs 6 grand for a good peice. I'll only buy a 350 hp crate motor if we are allowed to run a 4bbl.

I'm not actually trying to make a wish list, just looking from a current timeframe common sense standpoint!

actually I had an edelbrock intake howe center link 10.5:1 motor and a true track rear end in the black 32 I brought out there, Mooney was still half a lap ahead!! :D

I can't be more happy an asphalt track right in my backyard!!

Mike,

You're too funny! I bought Eddie's trailer when he had it up for sale.

Eddie,
Welcome back to the racing chatter! Pretty exciting stuff about Evans Mills!

Rob,
Good points on the time factor.

my opinion is to keep the current motor rules, give unaltered 602 crates a weight break restrict the cars with 4412 carbs hoosier "brick" 890's a 13 new tire a year tire cap for each team, solid locked rears only no fancy rear end mounting and(ex: 4 link cars have four links no adjustable panhards...ect...ect.....steel body non adjustable shocks ..... RANDOMLY tech 2 out of the top 5 in points and one front runner from that night so you cant sandbag on tech nights....pull intakes regularly to check for porting/roller cams make sure noones running aftermarket heads cube check one night and whistle and scale cars a diff night in random order ...... hey burton thanks for getting us kicked off the other board with all your long and intellectual posts prolly most of em cant read and i think you offended them

Well guys, obviously you do not know a great deal about the department of enviormental conservation so I will take it in to my own hands to clue you in. Speaking of boat anchors, the d.e.c. mandated that chevrolet painted their engine blocks bright orange for all those years to try to help with a safety issue for the fish, with the engine being bright orange the fish had a far better chance to see it before they swam into it causing any bodily damage. Also has anyone took the time to actually look at the new chevrolet cup engines? They have cylinder heads that are IDENTICAL to a ford, and the distributor is located on the front of the engine and they have dominated the last two years, coincidence, or is there something to this?

Mike,
I purchased 2 cars when I was in Afghanistan that I put in the garage in Michigan, one of them was that black 32 (which happened to be Brad Keselowski's former car) and I also had that white # 6 that I raced out at AIS once. I rebuilt the entire #6 car here in Watertown it had never been raced before. I never moved back to Michigan but I got out of the Army, had a child, and bought a house, so I had to get out for a while. I have another car now that came from Michigan.

Dinzler,
I think at least a weight break would be good for a crate motor with a 2 barrel on it. I don't know how many cars around here have a third link, but maybe they should be allowed but with a weight penalty. The tire sounds good (brick) at least we wouldn't have to buy tires every other week to be competitive. The track should mandate a list of aftermarket intakes and 1 inch spacers. Aftermarket heads (stock replacement) such as RHS,Dart,World products (straight plug, cast iron only) should be allowed with no porting of any kind. The current rules from AIS wouldn't be bad as long as we can run an aluminum intake with no penalty,

Steve,
How's that trailer? Way to get us kicked off the Dirt flingers website!!! :D

I couldn't have said it any better Mr. Markham. You will have to wait some time for any response because there is no comeback for that one. Truth is Truth. Steve would probably respond but he is out in the hangar pondering on how to get HIS distributor to the front of his engine without breaking the GM seals!

As we all know the GM crate motors are now black blocks. This is due to shear embarrasment and shame upon General Motors and the tax paying public. The new and improved Government motors is trying to make cost cuts and "bright orange" costs more than "gloss black". The plan is to fade from the orange to black and eventually blue so they can complete the transition and be totally identical to Ford, stealing all of their ideas and finally making torque and horsepower.

Proud Taxpayer and part owner of Government Motors,
Mike

I say keep the dual plane aluminum intakes we were allowed last year, also stay with gm , ford or chrysler heads, I think allowing aftermarkets will open a can of worms we dont need , lets keep it simple for the transition to go smoothly to the new track , we can work on tweaking the rules after we get a season back in the books there,

Eddie – The trailer is great. Thanks for asking. Great for keeping things dry and a great gathering place when it rains at the track.

Tommy – Fish are colorblind! You’re right, they want them orange, but for a much more obvious reason. They needed the most durable paint they could find. GM is the only company with engine paint that would hold up to the abuse of salt water. That Ford blue just seemed to melt off those Ford blocks and was causing pollution! It's now a Coast Guard requirement to paint all those Ford anchors with GM paint. As far as NASCAR – That’s a new NASCAR rule. They’re trying to make the GM’s like Fords so they can make their Cup races even more boring!

Mike – You’re right I was in the hangar trying to put the distributor in the “right” place. I succeeded, but instead of that nice Chevy rumble, now I hit the throttle and all I get is “Whine, Whine, Whine!”

Enjoy! (Hey I kept a lid on it for a couple hours, but like they say, you can't keep a good man down!)

speaking of DEC requirements--- The ford engine puts out so many emissions that the town of Leray has limited them to 2 engines per track.

Mike.
I wasn't saying run stock cranks just stock weight cranks... scat cranks are pretty affordable

I wouldn't like the idea of the third link but doesn't ford run those anyway?
