North Country Race Talk

A meeting with the town of New Bremen this morning (Wednesday Nov. 18) has resulted in a formal agreement to close the track and return it to something similar to vacant status for 2010. The town has been very helpful as this action will result in enormous tax savings for AIS. Unfortunately for the racing world, this means there will be no action at AIS in 2010 by either lease or rental as the track will be completely shut down and disabled.

For the future, the property tax question of what happens if the track returns to operational status is still unresolved. However the recent action by the town is a promising first step. Efforts will continue to be given to other issues concerning health department requirements and track re-organization. While no time table of any kind has been set for resumption of track operation, there are hopes that an exchange of ideas and suggestions can continue.

All racers and fans are encouraged to find another track to attend. Even if it makes returning to AIS difficult, the local racing industry needs our support. There are some great tracks out there available to us here in the north country, from dirt to asphalt and featuring some of the most creative classes of racing anywhere in the country. I'm guessing there are a number of fans out there who would like to know where our racers might be going. Let us know your plans and we wish you the best of luck.

It's true, the dirt is coming off right now. Thanks for all the calls to Chip Burdick,and the Capraras. Everyones vioce helped make the difference. Anyone is welcome to come and tour the facility this weekend. Probably working at it all weekend at least until NASCAR time on Sunday.

Just came from there , the surface looks to be in decent shape under the clay, lets have a 50 lapper before snow flies

Was there at 5 today and they have the dirt off from the starters stand,thur 4 and almost to turn 3.Asphalt looks as good as it did last time we ran on it and still has the white lines on it in spots.
