Keep your facts accurate

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Paul Lyndaker says there was only one offer ever made to him for a partnership at the speedway. Terms included controlling interests and a cash payment of less than 1/8 of the investment Paul had into the track at the time. Please be more accurate with your statements. Your IP address is recorded with any post made on this talk forum!!! Any further acts of slander towards Paul Lyndaker or the Adirondack International Speedway will be dealt with legally.

Thank you

flagman,

This is just our opinion but it seems that you have a bad case of oral diarrhea and you like to hide behind a screen name. You seem to be very good at tearing things apart which is demolition and destruction, what an amazing person you could be if you directed your energy towards being constructive!! JUST OUR OPINION

ais management, yes that was my opinion and the opinion of a lot of other peoples.i have spent alot of money at ais and would love to see it reopen next year, but the facts show how the track was run by the numbers in the stands and the number of drivers that did not show uo at the last race.all the people ever wanted was to be treated fair.

flagman,

Thank you for your constructive response. We understand that there were issues during the 2009 racing season involving the teams, tech, officials, and management. We are looking forward to a year off. We understand the teams will go to other (supposedly better managed) tracks. We hope you find THAT track where the drivers have control and management does not interfere with your Saturday evening racing plans. We will be very anxious to hear your comments after a full season of racing at other tracks.

Thank you, good luck and wish you all well

AIS management how can you say anything negative towards the racers and then say good luck? Alot of guys worked theirasses off to race there now AIS doesn't seem to care that they just cut everyone from the track.... Certain people may so called "bash" Paul but what do you expect after people dump thousands in a hobby and now have nowhere local to go.... Tear the stands and stuff down put up some crappy stands will that help the tax situation? what can all of us do to help him out? can we call a legislator or something we don't know what to do? so why can't you give us some sort of direction....

Also if the stands and tower are taking down then is the track ever gonna reopen? And i know that paul has been offered a lease by some guys this year why didn't that pan out?
And what happens if the taxes don't go down and he has no races there to pay the taxes?

AIS MANAGEMENT,

I do not think flagman ever said the drivers should run the track ,But they have spent alot of money (like paul) and should be treated a little better. They like to race and they know that they are not going to get rich doing this.but they do need respect and right now you are not showing any! Management should listen to what they say and atleast think it over. That is the way we work together and that is how the track will work!!!!!!

Josh:

You ask a great question about what we can do and I wish I had some constructive suggestions. Contacting legislators can never hurt but the most track friendly one we had just got pushed aside by her own party (Dede). Then there's the state grant that under a new administration mysteriously became a loan that needed to be paid back after it was all spent. I don't want to get into a political discussion, but there have certainly been some administrative hassles with the State Department of Health that have been difficult.

Is there someone out there who is respected and has the time and energy to put together petitions and represent driver concerns to the right ears? I know several drivers who are respected.....it's the time and energy part that's difficult! It also feels like closing the barn door after the horse is already out. But I would hope that a well crafted effort by a few to gather information and present it in a constructive way would be helpful. Could a position be created that would be a liasion between the track and the drivers/crews? I know that Lancaster has such a person (Lori Overdorf) and she has done a magnificent job, but unfortunately the modifieds there may still be history next year.

I'll try and think of some more things but right now I'm hitting a blank wall and will post this for now.

Your past experience from other tracks is a great asset to the AIS staff. We need you to continue in helping resolve these problems.

Racers

If you are really serious...

Paul really cares about every one at AIS and wanted so bad to make it all happen. He spoke many times about there being no race track in Lewis County when he was a kid. He always drove out of the county for racing entertainment. It breaks his heart and his wallet like yours too. But you need to understand what taxes and government regulations have put him through financially. He has spoken out many times to town, county, state government officials and local lawyers, only to be treated like a voice in the wilderness. The only lawyer that ever went to bat and did all he could, and did a very good job of that, was a lawyer named John Yuhas from Marcellus, New York with Lou Gehrig's disease. This man could not even brush his own teeth or comb his own hair because of this disease, from a hospital bed he helped Paul accomplish more in this challenge for fair taxation than any other individual.

If you really want to help the track, telephone (315) 376-3356 and ask for Fred J. Schneider Town of New Bremen Supervisor and ask him why the tax assessment on the AIS race track went from $350,000 dollars in 2003 to $3,500,000 in 2004 with no real estate improvements done. The other two similar assessed full time businesses (which we are not) in the Town of New Bremen in 2003 have stayed the same to this day and have had no large assessment changes while both have done considerable real estate improvements. The land and school taxes in 2003 were $14,078.18 per year. The same property one year later in 2004 went up to $126,141.63. This is why Dr. Sam Yancey and Paul Lyndaker have spoken nearly every day on the phone since the spring of 2006, trying to get a solution to these over burdening taxes. We accomplished a reduction of nearly 1/2 in total taxes, but it is still not nearly enough. This is why we decided recently to draw a line in the sand and bring these taxes back down to "vacant land and vacant storage sheds." This can only be done by closing the racing facilities. This facility will stay this way until the Town of New Bremen assessment for part time seasonal recreation property becomes comparable to other Lewis County recreational property and other State wide stock car race tracks.

A note to Gitter....
Nothing meant negative or punitive coming from AIS Management. Hobbies cost a person money, the facility where you play your hobby should not be expected to pay for your hobby. For example AIS loses money to provide competitive fun for the racer and entertainment for their fans under the current situation every Saturday night due to high taxes and excessive government regulations for a part time entertainment business. Since day one Paul has paid over $500,000 in local land and school taxes. Every Saturday night it costs $8,000+ just to open the doors due to land, school taxes and required insurances for pits and grandstand fans. It can also cost up to $1,000 for sales tax every regular Saturday night with NASCAR weekend topping it off at an additional $10,000+ for sales tax and additional insurance. Every regular Saturday night costs a minimum of $20,000 with 2/3 of them costing $25,000 and finally to mention NASCAR weekend costing $125,000 (one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars) just to break even.If you would like to know more about additional weekly expenses Paul has the information. Racers we are tired and we are taking a break.

One final comment for the evening....

I have never commented about the ruling made on the #22 truck on this web forum. I am commenting now, and you can read it and I know you probably DON'T WANT to believe it. But drivers, that is most of your problems at AIS. Unfortunately I am the owner and I have the final say. Rob was the tech man at the time, eager to do his job, coming from dirt track experience having no experience teching asphalt cars for ride height. Ride height is the issue.......At AIS since the opening day ride height in this class has been measured from the lowest point of the frame rail which the vehicle has two, left and right. Ride height in this class has been and will continue to be measured this way. End of your arguments, end of your complaints, end of your sneer remarks, end of your unfair remarks, end of your remarks about the big dummy in the tower, and finally end of people saying Paul is always changing the rules when Paul himself is reluctant and has been reluctant to change any rules because these changes often result in drivers feeling they need to spend more money to remain competitive. This is the last I will speak of this issue and i don't want to hear about it any more. I have been blamed for every mistake at this track when in fact I was probably out working on a generator to make sure the lights could remain on to finish the race and racers those cuts are deep and they hurt. Your comments that I made all these decisions when in fact I seldom made any final decisions are wrong. Many of you admire how the track was built and the facility layout like wise you will admire how it will be run if it ever re-opens. Thank you staff for many many hours of dedication with not enough praise. Thank you fans for attending Adirondack we have enjoyed you very much and appreciate your support. Thank you family for sticking by me. Thank you sponsors for all your gracious help, with out you it would not have been possible. Thank you guys and gals (racers)it has been an exciting and challenging eight years. Like the billboard says on the Artz road ITS A PLACE YOU WILL NEVER FORGET.

Sincerely,
Paul H. Lyndaker
