Nate, I think Tim was refering to how the SC class started out more like an inexpensive class that used to send cars home because there were too many cars. They were stock cars with no modifications allowed. Then people started cheating and it got swept under the carpet until it got to where it is now. My #20 car is stock except for the front suspension and I drove that car as fast as it would go and I couldn't stay on the lead lap. I drove it so hard that I blew it up at 7,200 RPM's. The truck class will be a small class like our SC class because people won't want to spend the money to be competitive in what is supposed to be an entry level, inexpensive class. Our class is fine the way it is now, but only for those SC car owners who want to spend a lot of money to be competitive. Look at the #87 car that raced with us a few times this year. That is what ALL of our cars used to be like when our class started.

I also don't think the rules need a major overhaul just, tweeking. I was refering to the car count, as what We need to repair. Which is where the Lite trucks are at now. Rather than say what I would like to see in the 4 cyl class I will start a thread or someone else can cause I'm alone at work this week and someone could walk in the door at any minute.
Thanks John we really wanted to go to the ROC but the big diesel wan't inspected and still isn't the car is killing batteries for some reason, it's the alternator. I own 0 spares for the car, rims or tires, as we found out at Arts Race. I was also in the process of selling a piece of land, which fell through anyways, so we just kept working and finished it that night. Pete Dawson tried to convince us to go, so did Tim Dunn, it was a great opportunity not taken. We were where we were going to finish in the points so it was a no harm no foul situiation for us. Should have found a tow vehicle, I had one helper.

Yup,
I understand.. I do think some changes that would increase the car count would be great. I know the Dinzler kid is building a car for next year, and as far as I know we'll all be back. But what I would like to suggest to Rob and all others at AIS is that if and when the rules are "tweaked" for the 4 cylinders, that we as a group sit down and decide collectively, the drivers, AIS, and the tech committie (including John Croasdale if he is willing), on a set of rules. A set that will be allright with the drivers currently running, as well as intice others to join our class. I'm just afraid that this may be done without input or any decision making power from the drivers. Sound like a decent plan?

The sport compacts weren't "invited" to the invitational. I was playing track photographer for the race night.

The late models had a decent run around the lap cars up in the second groove in their race. It's hard to do that in any other class unless the leaders are going around my car

Are the rules for the Sport Compact really that broken? We split up the wins pretty evenly between all of us in the division.

THATS ONLY BECAUSE THE # 4 DID NOT RUN ALL THE RACES OR THE WINS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALL SPLIT UP.

Watsonboy29, the rules for the SC class are really pretty good. It's hard to get cars there because most racers want to race for wins, which requires a lot of money and work in our class. I am glad the wins were so evenly spread out. And yes, it would have been different if the #4 was on the track for every race. Any dirt track "thunder car" doesn't stand a chance in our SC class. That's why we are saying that the light trucks at AIS are heading for the same car count doom that the SC class is experiencing every week. When cheating isn't stopped right away it takes it's toll on the class in the car count area, especially when the light truck class is supposed to be an inexpensive stock class that a young (or old) racer can use to get his or her feet wet with. There's no way the #22 truck should have been able to lap the entire field of stock trucks on September 19th. Come on! Jenn Van Tassel beat that #22 earlier this year, but #7 didn't have a chance in hell on the 19th of September. I think the truck class is doomed, and the fans can see it just like those of us in the pits can. Many of those fans have more racing knowledge than some of the drivers at AIS, and no one should think that the fans can't see what's going behind the scenes. They're not stupid.

I heard a rumor that the Ladies Light Truck class may be eliminated next year. I hope not. All the girls put on a great show and they all should be congratulated and the division should stay.

They are probably going to combine the mens and the ladies due to the fact that most(if not all but 3 or 4)of the men are looking to race elsewhere after all the BS. It should be called the Cheaters division. Whoever can cheat the best wins!!!!!!!!!

I AGREE 100%. The only way to win @AIS is to CHEAT! Ask the #22 Light Truck.

I am about as sick and tired of listening to this. Like listening to a bunch of kids. Enough is enough, build a better truck for next year, or go to a different track like most of you say you are going to do anyhow.
If you need some help building a faster truck than the 22. I have some ideas, and they are all legal.

BannerDairyFarm,

Your comment, "They are probably going to combine the mens (sic) and the ladies due to the fact that most(if not all but 3 or 4)of the men are looking to race elsewhere after all the BS..."

Your prognostication is indicative of your intelligence and bemoans the level of your discourse.
