9/26 Superstock race

Postby R VanTassel on Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:43 pm

I personally talked to Paul this afternoon. Any 8" tire may be used in this race. 880; 890; 990; Hoosier tires can be run. Paul has a few 890 tires but will not be buying any others for this year. Dirt 10' tires may be run if you have a dirt car and wish to use them. The rules have been opened up to include any street stock, superstock, true stock or any other comparable class. Let's not get wild and show up with a dirt modified engine, one of our late model engines or a 4 barrel carb because these will not be allowed. Anything questionable that you may want to run I suggest that you bring a copy of the rulebook that allows it or you may be denied the right to run it. Basically if it is allowed at any track in the north country and is a comparable class to ours you are allowed to run it even if you don't race at that track. Please feel free to call me about this matter if you have any questions.

Pit admission for all support divisions is $40 with an additional $10 for car entry. Higher payouts will be in place depending on car count and in addition safety checks will be done before racing begins.

Well Billy what do you think about these rules? What do the rest of the devoted racers at AIS think? Lets here from the racers that put money into the track and have tried to keep it going, after we get some more input I for one will let you know honestly what I think about several issues that have been going on.

The last that I knew this was supposed to be OUR race not like the Late Model Invitational. I have stood behind the track and also voiced my opinion about the bad calls for drivers that deserve better. I was on neither side only what I thought was right. This is not right, change the rules now what are we to expect Saturday night. I see that the fees have already increased what is next?

I hope some of you racers get on here and voice your opinion. We as a group have until Saturday have a say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well,Monnat you seem to be a little upset.I don't know why.You guys only been slapped around and misused all year, thought you liked it by now!!!!Jokin! You run last most of the time.Don't that tell you something? This year end race has been billed as a 50 lap for most of the year, still says so on the schedule.oops!!!some of the drivers were looking forward to it.Then it changed a couple weeks ago to a 20 lap race.well let down, but guess we'll race is what was said.Thinking it is a regular type non points show for the regulars. Most non point shows don't tech much just regular weight, kinda let the guys strut their stuff to each other and have fun to show appreciation for supporting the track and racing all year. But here, we turn it into a demo derby invitational with bring what you brung racing.open to the whole northeast wow!I'm not impressed at all but not surprised either. The additional 10$ don't surprise me.The purse not guaranteed posted don't surprise me either. If I read it right it's 40 for pit member to get into pits and 50 for driver and car.For 50 bucks you get the right to possibly get banged around smashed,by cars that my have never driven asphalt or don't have the proper tires or equipment to do so.(Then trim the weight too). What the heck?In other words you as ss class are not respected at all. We'll use you as a filler and charge you more to boot.Sat night a car showed up that wasn't there all year.I'd like to know if he missed hitting anyone????Last night of points and he could of altered the outcome more that he did.I thought that was kinda low of that driver not much class there..Late model motor soft tires in the ss class???How many of you got wrecked or have orange paint on your car.Remind him if he shows again. Also bothers me this site we talk on.Paul doesn't like it,but he sure gets a lot of info about his track posted here ,what you think.I for one will not give 40 bucks at the back gate to come there to a race that is all screwed before it starts.Bless you guys if you go.You going to need it.I don't need to get misused or squeezed for more money.Trust me the ones that know me, know I am not cheap and have spent more than my share $at ais this year, but am DONE!!! Not getting squeezed. Not when the owner doesn't even appreciate the racers or fans that come.He demonstrated that sat, night. You would do better with a 50 lap LM race for the same money as the 100 and a 50 lap ss race for more money.I've been involved with racing for over 34 years on all aspects of it.Never seen anything quite like what happens up there on a regular basis.I would hope at least they would start at 2pm,not regular time, but then again.Randy you should run man,not walk run,you will be the fall guy just like ones before you.I'm sorry but history has told this story before and the commander hasn't changed ships .you can not help someone that does not want help or can't see how very wrong things actually are.6 years and things haven't changed so what? do you believe in miracles. No miracles in this world.!.Take life the way it is there, it will not change.Fact.Some people can not see the damage they do by trying to be in control of everything around them.It is actually a medical condition and eventually they spiral out of control. They have to first admit to the condition.Like any addict does.! By gosh! This day and age there must be some sorta pill for that, I feel bad for you guys. Hey madman sorry to see your bad luck, and jr you just cut across the 11to fast into traffic congratulates on track champion. sorry about both your lucks don't like seeing bad luck.Congratulates Angry Dave on win you looked good even for having orange paint all over.I hoped that crew chief of yours would get you in there sooner or later.I know him,You should listen to him more!!!Ha!ha! hmm... 50 bucks to race this weekend... with the possibility of a bunch of cars not set up to run asphalt there. It's been a demo derbey most of this season... and as fun as it is to race... i think i'll just leave my car home... got enough stuff to fix on it. If i would see a payout posted for the super stock race that makes the regular payouts look tiny, i might consider throwing my money in... and giving it a try... but the way things have been this year... they prolly would change the purse on saturday any way. oh well, good luck to who ever goes...

Randy's post at the top say's no 4-barrels will be allowed ! I hear through the grape vine that there are some putting them on for this weekend. if another track allows them is that going to make them legal for this weekend ? if so we should all know now or we will be out to lunch ! if they will be illegal no matter what then will there be tech ?

Yes i must agree AIS does not go by the rules so why should you even bother reading them. Now mister vantassel you seem quite bossy about changing all these rules and making modifications for wait.... ohh yes your acception or advantage must i say. Well this track make me want to shove my finger in my throat and throw up all over it. I am very sorry to say but this track is headed for doom unless Paul grows a pair and makes word and decision by himself...based on HIS RULES and HIS AUTHORITY HE HIRED!

WOW that was so simple.

GO BY THE RULES... that is so hard to follow is it not?! hahahaha you fools.

Maybe if Paul fixed his own problems the right way he would have a successful track and fans would pour in more.
I have been to several races and never have i seen in all my years such a BLANK grandstand.
....
Fix your problems before season has ended and the banquet to come or AIS will have lost alot of desirable racers along with their fans.!!

Gunner, No 4 Barrels Allowed in the SuperStock class.

Berryjerry, These are not my rules or decisions. Paul doesn't post on any site and asked myself and Steve Burton to post things for him.
This race is what he terms an open renegade race. If he allowed a few cars to come with a lighter weight because their track allows it there would be upset people. I think the simple one weight rule is easier on everyone. I'm sorry if your upset with me about being "bossy" but that is exactly what this track needs right now, someone to make a decision and stick with it. Many people thought Billy Gibson was bossy also. Maybe he was but the track ran smoother the in recent weeks.

Justin, With the extended practice sessions I'm hoping all the cars will be "dialed in" and that should make a nice show. If I thought this was a joke of a race I wouldn't allow both of my cars on the track. Hope to see you there.

randy, these should be your decisions, you know more about racing than most everyone at the track(not to say you are old  ),but it would make racing their alot better.
