Josh,

I have a tough time too hearing my Raceiver over my engine when it's spooled up. I also run mufflers on the car to try to protect what hearing I have left. (That helps a lot - no more ringing in my ears for two days!) Taping the earbuds in with duct tape helps a little too. I suppose finding earbuds that fit really well would filter out the outside noise too. I did notice, it's better with some announcers than others - I think they talk too loud, too close to the microphone when things get exciting on the track. Lastly, I keep the volume one notch below max, at max it is too garbled.

Hope this helps...or get one of those expensive two-ways with the nice headsets and start some real trouble!! LOL I can't believe tech hasn't caught that jet engine I'm running yet!!! Heck, it came out of a crate!

Josh, keep in mind that ther is very little talk this year. I think Dave called it radio silence. He will tell you of a caution but not if the leaders are approaching, or the 1/2 way point, or 2 to go, I'm not sure about when the green flies. This is the way Dave has done it in the past and it has worked for him quite well he said. I know it's not the way we are used to and we had different people on the radio in the past years. Rudy Widrick does a fine job and being a driver he knows what you guys need or want to here. Dave is doing a good job it is just different than what we are used to.
