Dave,we ran a 6.50 gear in our street stock when we ran there last and was turning about 68-6900.With the late model we ran a 6.73 gear and turned about 7200.randy

What tires were you on? and what was the approx weight of the street stock?

add a hundred pounds for what saftey ,maybe if you would have raced more you would know,. not only are they legal but highley recomended.a ford rear end is at least 70 to 80 lbs more anyways.just leave it alone.

huh????? I don't know who or what that comment was about??? As far as a ford 9" a lot more gear options are readily available, I asked the question specifically to determine my options not to cause any waves... either run an 8.5" gm 10 bolt with a ratio that doesn't quite fit the mills configuration or swap to a 9" which is looking like what I'm going to do.. Or I could just get rid of my automatic and run a three speed like you , and I could determine a few more options. But this all goes towards what exactly the rules are going to be? My car doesn't just run at the mills.
