2010 AIS ?

Postby Gunner on Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:05 pm

if the rumor of the track not opening for 2010 is true,
I have a question:

did paul just deside not to open for the season or is this a bankrupt deal ?? :o

 Is there any posability of the track being leased :?: :?:

paul had mentioned wanting to finish the big part of the track but I for one find it hard to believe there will be funds enough available to finish it !!

I believe if the track could be leased to the right orginization it would be a great deal for all involved !!!!!

I would be more interested in that idea than going to the mills even if it went back to ashphalt

Call Chip 778 3407 or stop and see Billy Caprara, I believe you would all be welcome to come over and race with us. Frank

I just spoke with Sam Yancey and it is true AIS will not be open next year.

Word is Paul is taking the year off to get the water system completed and continue work on the track, now possibly a road course tied in with the existing track.

I guess we need to find a new place to play, I just hope Paul realizes that he may never get the same group back again, this may be the end of Pauls' dream.
I hope that NASCAR comes back as well, AIS could be a vision of the past.

they can say what they want but it don't take that long to do the water and where is he getting the money to work on the track.he does not know how to run the track he has now . this will be the end of the track, unless someone else takes it over.I feel sorry for all the drivers and fans that made the track what it was and to watch paul run it in to the ground and think he is doing the best for the track

Give me a break, just how stupid does he think everyone is? Everyone knows there are problems that have to be fixed before Paul can even open this year, water and sewer being the biggest things. And he also needs to get someone that can manage the place. Two impossible feats when you don't want to spend money to make the necessary improvements. Correction when you don't want to spend your own money to make improvements. Beware of being sucked into the poor Paul crap and him waiting for someone to step up and start passing around the collection hat to bale him out once again so he can sit back and have a good laugh at all the drivers expense. Best thing everyone can do is get together and go to another track and plead your case, hope they can accommendate all the drivers from AIS. Stand up for yourselves and call Paul's bluff. The car count for the renegade race was a good start.

A ROAD COURSE ????????WTF.... WHERE IS HE GOING TO FIND A CAR COUNT FOR THAT ONE? IN MY OPINION (IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO DO ANYTHING) FINISH THE BIG TRACK , GET ARCA AND TRUCK DATES, OR JUST FINISH THE SMALL ONE AND TRY FOR SOME BIG EVENTS OR HERES ONE BETTER ...JUST FILL THE ONE YOU HAVE WITH WATER AND MAYBE DO A COUPLE OF BASS TOURNAMENTS, THIS JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER

Give them a call I recieved a call from a racers dad last nite that had called Chip to see if Capraras would take the dirt off the Alley. Chip told him he would talk to Billy no guarantees but it is worth the time to talk. Frank

Frank,
Is there anything that collectively as a group we could do to "intice" the powers at be to remove the dirt from Evans Mills. It seems to me that there is a group of 40-50-60 racers with cars that have nowhere to run.... Hate to say it but we are a group of people that are very motivated, and have no where else to race. Seems like to Caprara's would have a captive group of racers for their weekly show. Honestly the crowds at AIS were pretty decent towards the end of the year, from what I hear similar to what they were getting at the Mills. Seems like the crowd would come to Evans Mills as well, possibly even larger with the proximity to Watertown and Fort Drum (and some good management).... Also, we have rules, a tech guy, a flagger, all the pieces, just no track to race on. Seems as if the Mills could just pull the clay, and we could take care of all the particulars to put on a show.

Is there anything that you recommend? A list of signatures, a "group" letter, phone calls, etc. to show that we are motivated and would come to race at the Mills with pavement....

Any other ideas from other racers?

Nate

Nate, I two hate to see AIS close. I would recomend calling Chip Burdick and also get in touch with Billy and Charlie Caprara. They may change if they have enough interest. The Capraras are business men, and if the oportunity is there it might happen. No guarantees, but worth a try. I enjoyed working with you guys at AIS especially the racers, the fans and the help, but I had to move on due to differences of opinion, Paul and I always got along great, but some decisions were made that I could not accept. So I left. I really enjoy doing what I am doing now, the management at the tracks I work at now do listen and are a great bunch of guys. Frank
